As some of you folks know, I'm a consultant with a home office.  That
apparently means I have time to do all the household chores.  I love
to cook, so that's not a problem.  And laundry only happens once a
week and just takes a few minutes at a time.  But vacuuming just plain
sucks.  So I bought Carol a Roomba for her birthday.  And I love it.
Just turn the sucker loose and it does the house for me, while I do
WTF people want to pay me to do, or just prowl Usenet while some
background task runs.

Guys, buy your lady a Roomba.  They'll love you for it.

Now I need to bleed some tanks for a hydro and put my gear in the bag
for tomorrow night.

Linux, it's not just an OS, it's a way
of life.

And a damn fine one, at that.

A vacuum cleaner for her birthday? How very thoughtful and "romantic".

What are you getting her for Xmas, a new toilet plunger?

She asked for it.  We just had tile and wood installed.  Since I'm
really the one who does the vacuuming, ...

My father bought my mother a shotgun one year for a Mother's Day
present.  She bought him a blender.  And used the shotgun to shoot a
personal high 99 one day.

For Valentine's Day a few years ago, I bought my wife a Spyderco Rescue
knife.  For our anniversary, I bought her a Northface Crestone 60 internal
frame backpack.  She loved both presents.  I love that woman.
