What happened to Techdiver List??

After several years away from the sport I am working my way back.
Killing time on a rainy day reading up on what used to be staples for me
(sites by Capt. JT, Christina Young, Mikey at AUE).  Only JT seems to
still be active...

That lead me to want to scan thru some techdiver archives and see it has
been dead since mid-late 2003.  A quick google search didn't find
anything.  Has a replacement emerged???

TIA...

http://www.thedecostop.com
http://www.uwex.us/uwex.htm (Mike Barnett's list)

There is also a quest list at the GUE website that charges money. AFAIK,
GI is no longer active on the lists, even the GUE one.

The old Techdiver and Cavers lists are dead. All of the above lists are
moderated and nowhere near as entertaining as the old lists were.

Al,

You hinted at exactly what I enjoyed about that list...

Thanks for the links.  I did see a nice (but short) piece on GI and the
WKPP on Discovery HD just a few months back.  The wkpp site seems all
but dead as well...

Decostop is very lightly moderated.

George turned the project over to Casey... family business matters
left little time for running the WKPP.

Weather has created a lot of difficulties in making further progress
in the WKPP, which explains the lack of updates.  I think they've done
only 2 or 3 (research) dives in the last 2 years.

Really? They moderate posts about regulator parts.

There have been a few instances where it appears that moderator personal
views get in the way of open discussion.

Same as Tundrasolutions moderates posts about lemon law discussions.
They don't want to get stuck in the middle of a legal battle under
conspiracy clauses.

They're just covering their a.ses.

Too funny. How many people remember the old days of Mr Clark, spoofs,
and other pizza-stained posts?

Drooling idiot farm animal stupid trailer trash bonesmugglers (yes, it
was one word)

And let's not forget Billy W, who called everyone Clyde, after the
"drooling moron" who sits on the side of the stage at revival meetings.

I like George and his style... but somehow, that name and that word
don't sound right in the same....  err.... book :)

Right, as in, he had to go to work for real.  As near as I can tell by
passing by occasionally, the business seems to be doing as well as ever.
Hopefully, the change has been good for him and the business.
