Anyone dive to the Thunderball underwater set in Nassau?  My wife and I plan
to go to Paradise Island in June and I would like to video and photo what is
left of the set.

How do I go about setting this up?

I dove the Thunderball site about 30-years ago.  It was mostly steel pipe
structures that had once been covered w/ cloth facias for the shooting.
Still, it was pretty cool.  I don't know what has happened to it since...
probably a good bit of coral growth on the structures now.

I was back in Nassau about 10-years ago.  I didn't revisit 007, but I did
go out on a couple of Shark dives with an operation on the other side of
the island.  That was extremely memorable... I'd highly recommend it if
they're still doing those... and buy the video of your dive if they offer
it... you will absolutely amaze your friends!

Regards,
Jack

It's shallow, and the plane is just a pipe structure, but there is
plenty of life to see. You can swim through the hole in the shipwreck
(not sure but I think it is called Tears of Allah). Nassau Scuba Centre
www.nassau-scuba-centre.com), Stuart Cove, Dive Dive Dive and whoever
else is on that side of New Providence go to it almost daily. I think
there is also a Flipper set nearby. Just contact the shops on that side
of the island to see who is going there when you want to go. Most of
them will pick you up at your hotel and deliver you back later.

A couple of years ago I was diving at Stuart Cove and went on an
underwater scooter expedition.  We spent three hours underwater (one
tank, one scooter, then up for a surface interval and back underwater
with fresh tanks and new scooters).  We visited a couple of Bond Sites.
I don't think the sites are worth spending a dive on, but, when you
visit them on scooter, the trip getting there is half the fun.  Worth
checking out. You see reefs that haven't been overdove and you still
get your Bond photo
