Hi all!

Just dropping in to bug you a bit.....

Greg - yes I am still at WSU (thread from Feb, OT-One year ago) - kinda
- more later.

Diving has been minimal over the last year - trying to get other life
stuff in order.

I'm defending my dissertation on Friday - in Experimental Psychology.
For the past year I've been teaching at my undergrad alma matter,
Eastern Washington University. That has been a kick. However, I recetly
accepted a position back at WSU. Specifically, I'll be working at the
Center to Bridge the Digital Divide - I'm the deputy director of global
networks. http://www.cbdd.wsu.edu

Global networks is now heavily involved in the NetTel Africa program.
Basically we are training people (masters degree) in policy and
management of information communication technology programs. This is
being done through distance degree type programs - a first over there.
As a result, starting in June, I will be spending much of my time in
sub-saharan Africa! http://www.nettelafrica.org

Anyone know of any good diving over there? Operators, etc? I'll be all
over the place, so any recommendations are good ones....

Chilly - email me, I have review copies of that article I talked about
several years ago and I need your address to mail it off!

Hope all of you are as well as possible! I'll be popping in more
frequently now.....

Hey, Soon-to-be-Doc,

Nice to hear you're still perambulating. Sounds like you've got
academia by the cojones. Don't know much about sub-saharan diving
except that one shouldn't make noises like Great White Shark food and
also that some of the Requiem Sharks (Bullsharks) are known to mosey
on up the rivers far from the salt in search of lunch.

Good luck with the dissertation. Defend the hell out of it.

I'll need to! IMHO - it's not the best experiment I've done.....

but it is defendable....

Not at the Guld of Guinea shores.
Devastating waves.
There is some diving in Sao Tome/Principe.
Placing looking interesteing from the charts, but I'd suspect some breakers:
Fosse de Cayar, Senegal,
Punta de Des Almadies, Peninsale de Cap Verde, Senegal,
Cape Three Points, Ivory Coast,
Between Njonje and Batoki, Cameroon,
Cape Lopez, Gabon,
Porto Amboim, Angola,
Ponta de San Jose, Angola,
Salinas Lighthouse, San Jose,
South of Ponta Bongue to Cabo de Santa Marta, Angola,
down to 15°10' south,
the rest of the continent should be well known.( S.A., Mozambique,
Kenia, Capverdian Isles)

This stretches "South Sahara" a bit, but flights may be not that expensive.

Yow.  From Eastern Washington to sub-Saharan Africa.  I'm not sure which is
worse.  My diagnosis is that you're crazy.  Let me know if you need a
recommendation for a good psychologist.

Regardless, it's good to know you're sort of OK.  Give me your address in
Africa and maybe I'll ship you something valuable, like a case of beer.

Or a gun. That sounds like a place where he'd really need one. The
place is filled with huhu's and tootoo's all out to have some poor
schmuck's arse, mebbe literally.
