Any tips for George Town, Grand Cayman?

I'm there for one day on a cruise with the wrinklies and hope to get a dive
in. Possibly at Stingray City. "Divers Down" looks a likely operator unless
anyone has bad reports.

TIA

far easier, get off at the dock, turn right,
and walk a few blocks to Eden Rock dive shop.

shore diving is very easy there, and only a short distance out,
there is enough to see.

It all depends on what your interests are.  I dive pretty coral reefs
whenever I like.  There are plenty of them here in Florida.  If I only had
one dive in Grand Cayman, it probably would be Stingray City or, more
likely, the Sandbar (nearby, but deep enough for a dive instead of a
snorkel).  When I was there, I liked Reef Divers, out of Sunset House, but
nobody that was there when I was, still is.

If I did not have a chance to dive reefs whenever I please, I'd follow Bob's
advice.  The reef directly off Eden Rock is very nice and it's an easy walk
from the cruise ship docks.  Since you don't have to schedule your dive
according to the boat's schedule, you might even get in more than one dive.

I third that. Eden Rock is literally within sight of the cruise ships
at anchor and only a short walk if you turn right when you get off the
water shuttle. They have lockers you can rent to store your dryland
stuff. They rent weight belts and tanks there. It's not a bad reef
dive and requires no travel. There's a short swim out to the actual
coral.

I saw buses running folks out to the yacht basin on North Sound to do
Stingray City but I'm not sure if they were snorkellers or divers.

And Edan Rock used to be, and maybe still is, a great dive
