So there I was, in this dive, see....

Last night I was in a biker bar called the Barbarosa, in Del Rio,
Tennessee. About 50 miles north of here.

This place makes Mayberry look like Greenwich Village.

The place is pretty big, being a river rafting place and campground
as well.

The place is packed, it's having a "Mardi Gras" party (wasn't that
last month?).

A classic Popeye bar, there's probably 150 people in the place, barn
board/tin roof construct, three bars, woodstoves,40 Harleys out front.
The chicks are pouring beer on their t-shirts, the Cinnamon Girls are
ripping it out upstairs.

 I'm hammered.

This guy walks up to me.

He says "You're Popeye, the scuba guy".

Ya, I says, he says I know you from somewhere.

He's from Spokane, never been to Florida, first trip to Tennessee.

Maybe from the internet, says I, he says, maybe.

Then he says his daughter is a NASA training diver, works in the big
pool.

His last name, I think, is Carver.

Now I remember this conversation, here or somewhere, about this guy's
NASA Diver Daughter.

Does this ring a bell with any of you?

I rarely forget anything written here, and this is really bothering
me.

 I almost always wear a Dive T, and last night I wasn't.

I had been upstairs with the girls, and I came down and this guy
spotted me across a crowded bar and recognized me right away.

It happens in dive shops, a lot, but not in Del Rio, Tn.

Damn that bothers me, that I can't remember.

There was a nasadiver spamming T-shirts, but his last name is Brassard.

Judging from a quick Google search this guy and Pops should have gotten
along real well.

Are you talking about the pool in Huntsville?

There is a chick who trains there who is from Ohio I think, and may
frequent Gilboa. I don't remember her name ;-)

 I dunno, really.

I had ass-umed it was in Florida, but not for any coherent reason.

I asked the guy about Gilboa, he said he hadn't been there.

I knows Andrew and 5thD, but I never met any of those guys.

He was in his late 40's or so, a yuppie biker.

I don't explicitly recall a "my kid works at" conversations regarding
NASA's neutral buoyancy tank in Huntsville, Alabama, but you're right in
that it does seem to be niggling back in the cobwebs somewhere.  My
recollections was of a guy who worked there himself, such as W. Herb
Sims (FWIW, Herb's wife just got certified last year and they were
thinking about a trip to Bonaire last fall).
