I just bought a Sony P10 (5.0 megapixels) and have ordered the Sony
marine pack.  I guess it's kind of late asking this now, but is this a
good U/W camera, and what information do I need to know before I take
it down? (other than "check the o-ring!" :-)  Thanks, George

I would take the case to depth empty at least once to make sure there
are no leaks.  Also, I hope the manufacturer included some sort of depth
rating on the housing.  I have seen some housings good to only a few
feet.  Others good, past recreational depths.

You made a good choice. A friend of mine brought his to Truk Lagoon last
June. He took it to 140 feet with no leaks. He also got some really nice
macro photos. You need to invest in a good strobe for anything other than
macro though.

Ask your friend if the Sony housing is better than the others, like
the S&S housing.  I am also looking at if the S&S strobes can connect
to the Sony housing.  Thanks for the message !

George,
Wayne used and liked the Sony housing. He has not tried any other housing
nor does he intend to do so as the Sony fits his needs.  Hopefully someone
else in this news group will be able to fill you in on the other housing. My
advice, get a housing that will allow you to mount dual strobes. For further
correspondence, send me an e-mail.
Aloha,
Jim
