Me and Dennis went diving, in the ocean and everything.

 With a boat, even.

 It was pretty cool.

Now, back to out regularly scheduled program.

Maybe if you left the flares, or the cellphone on the boat, you guys
could have a way-cool dive.

Well, maybe not...

The very best part was the guy from out of state that showed up with 100%
rental gear, no watch, no computer.

We were diving an old bridge span that had been dumped 4 miles out in the
Gulf.

After the pre-dive brief, the guy (my new dive buddy) turns to me and says:
"There was a bridge out here?"

I turned to him without missing a beat and said "Yeah, but it was one-way".

Must have been of bavarian descent.
A bavarian girl stood at the pier in Camaret and wondered were the water
had gone. After being told it was low tide, she asked, "is this to
happen every day?"

Rather warm, but the vis was quarry-like 10-15'. Even so, it was good,
enjoyable diving.

Me and Kimber are figuring out our plan.

I may have to be in Houston for three weeks for Halliburton, haven't figured
that one out yet.

It's not easy getting human contact out of their human resources group.

Maybe she can drop me on the way by.

We're working up a Florida gig, but it looks like we may drink more than
dive.

 It's in the air!

 We'll keep ya posted.

Screw him, keep me posted.  Jayna says your room is ready.  BTW, Limey and I
are taking a ride up the coast Sunday night to meet up with Grumman581 and,
a couple of other people you know for one of those fresh water dives Curtis
keeps talking about.  We'll see if he's telling the truth about the curative
effects of fresh water on corroded regulator parts.  I suspect my Durango
will hold one more without doing too much damage to my milage.  Interested?

E-mail for logistics or just because you can.  I'd call, but I find my last
number for you is in Tennessee.  You're not.

Inches of visibility is God's Country?  I don't think so.  You have to come
down to get to God's country.  You used to live here.  Just because it's
populated by the Devil's spawn does not mean it can't still be God's
Country.

It aint inches. Its at least 2.5 feet at worst. You wanna talk buddy skills
and air drills?

The highest hill there is less than 300 feet. I know people with driveways
higher than that here.

If you come up in the fall or winter, the vis is awesome.

The water is coldest in the spring, when the snowpack melts. 36 to 40 is not
uncommon for the top 15 feet.

But, then you punch on through to the lower thermocline, and it warms up to
a balmy 46 to 48, maybe 52 in some spots.

We got 16 to 20 foot octopus that are breeding or on eggs, which makes 'em
kinda edgy.

Loads of fun.

Plus, we have a really old whorehouse, with a bar full of hippies to
frequent.

Ask Kimber.

2.5 ft visibility?  Buddy skills equal "see you back at the bar after the
dive"...

Once you defrost your eyeballs...

Correction, those weren't your *eye*balls that needed defrosting...

Not a hell of a lot better.

Makes crawling back home a lot easier.

Yes it is.

There are only three water temperatures possible, warm, cold, too cold.
Your water never gets above the too cold level.

Yeah, I know.  They're cool.  We have about a dozen varieties of eel, a
million or so varities of fish and enough different kinds of sharks to keep
things interesting.

We have really new whorehouses.  Much more fun . . . if you're into that
sort of thing.

Wait till you come back, we'll go recline in the theatre and have drinks
brought to us. If you get a room upstairs, you don't need to drive.

I will hold you to that -- and next time we need to actually go diving and
show me how great the diving I have missed out up there in the great
Northwest.
