This is an auction to benefit Kimber and the Kids.

If any of the rest of you have some gear around you could let go, we will be
happy to help.

You offer the gear, we put it up on eBay, when it sells, and you get e-mail
confirmation of payment from Kimber, you ship it.

If you have something to donate, email myself or Alan Street.

I have received several e-mails from people with a chip on their shoulder
for Mick. Mick is dead, leave him be.

This is about helping a young widow and her two little ones. If you can
help, please use this opportunity.

I agree.
I didn't like the guy - but that's no reason to relish in his death (my God
how horrible is that - some people - just have no sense of tact).
But regardless of how I or anyone felt about the guy - Kimber and the Kids
need the support.

Should Mick's son be included ??

Probably, I had no idea he had a son. That will be up to Kimber.

Are you going to contribute?

He has a 12 year old son that he was particulary proud of and has also left

From the looks of it, you don't know some other things either.

I have no gear to donate. I'm still using my 15 yr old mask and
fins...and my gloves with 3 holes in each hand.

I might buy one of Kimber's O2 analyzers if she chooses to donate it to the
auction.

And that is ok.  I still consider you a friend despite what you did and how
you dishonored myself and my husband..  I even had the wallhanging on the
table of his special things at the memorial service.  I guees you do not
feel the same way.  Seems to me it would hhave been better to sit quietly
and allow people to do whatever they choose.  You mail was very hurtful.

Oh yeah the "running off to Seattle thing"  I am  not running off on
vacation -- I am here for a job and to see if this is where I want to move
to.  I need to make some changes in my life, and soon so my babies have
food, clothing and roof over their heads.  They are in good hands as well as
have thrie teachers and school councellors watching over them as well.  If
they neeeded me today I would be on the next one out of town.  So don't make
this out like it is a vacation party time.  I am looking at securing a place
to live and a job to cover the bills.
Woundn't you agree that thinking ahead and taking care of your
responsibilities is an important thing?

Awh, come on, Greg... You probably revel in the jokes... I stumbled
across a lawyer joke web page once that was on a lawyer's web site...
I used to have a professor from Texas A&M and he probably had the
largest collection of Aggie jokes that I've ever seen... He would
start off the first day of class by telling some of them...

Some rec.scuban was looking for a fight in a local bar.
He went in and said aloud, "Lawyers are a.sholes".

Dead silence.

He said it a bit louder, "LAWYERS are a.sholes!"

More silence.

He stated to leave, but gave it a last try, "LAWYERS are a.sholes!!!"

Some fella named Gregory who was sitting next to him finally stood
up and floored this trouble-seeker in one swift punch.

"Were you insulted because you are a lawyer?"  asks he.

"No, I am insulted because I am an a.shole!!!" said the puncher.

Thanks, Bob.

Sorry I didn't make it out to LAX to let you buy me a drink the other night,
but I was down with a cold.  Let me know the next time you're coming through
here which is probably, what, another couple weeks?

I'm considering another trip to Tahiti early next year (Feb?), entirely
land-based this time.  We'll do Moorea again and I'd like to see Bora Bora
too but I've heard it's overdeveloped and the diving isn't so hot.  What was
your Bora Bora experience like and who do you recommend for diving?  (Yeah,
I could dig out your trip reports on Google instead of asking you, but since
you're back home again I figured you're probably getting bored already.)

Greg,

I caught this one just in time.

Another couple weeks?   How about this SUNDAY (two days from now)?   :-)
But I won't have time to buy you a drink then because I have only a
short time to make it to the cruise ship that afternoon.

HOWEVER, I just learned the BAD NEWS that I may have to stick around
LAX for a day on Nov. 14.  If so, then you may be able to cash in on
your drink offer.

I am just starting to work on the DETAIL of how to get my flight-
booking out of the soup.  The cruise returns to LA at 8 am.  So,
I booked my flight out of LAX at 11:15 am -- plenty of time if
I get off the ship by 9 am say.

While taking the pre-caution of making SURE that I would make it
(having forgotten about the immigration part, for returning from
La Hacieda, MX), we got the bad news that the ship won't even
let anyone off until NOON, Nov. 14.

RCCL bastards!   So, I definitely won't make that flight I booked.
Now the question is whether I can get the red-eye that night, or
have to stay over at the LAX Hilton till the next day is still up
in the air (pun intended)!

P.S.  If time and circumstance permits, I'll let you know if Nov 14 is
a possibility for you to cash in your drink.  :)

Actually, that's MONDAY (three days from now).  My biological and calendar
clocks are so messed up by random 24-hr time zones that I only guess
within ONE day of where I might be at any time now.

I am now booked on the red-dye (9:50 pm) from LAX to EWR and will probably
spend several hours before that time at the LAX President's Club of
Continental Airlines.  If you're going to be in LA around that time
EMAIL me (on how to contact you by phone:  I'll be able to phone you
from the ship before we get off on Nov 14 on where you can collect
your drink (and how many :-)).  If you can find your way to CO's
President's Club at the LAX airport, then you can have as many drinks
as you can hold (as my guest -- since it's all "free" <BG>).  Bur if
you can't get there ... then I'll have to buy you one somewhere else.

Believe Micks son as never and will never want for anything in his life.  He
has every game system ever made, a moped, tons of movies/cds etc etc etc.
My daughter sleeps on a mattress on the floor and we have 2 games for a
nintendo 64 my mom bought for them like 3 years ago.  But if there was
something he needed I would be sure he did.  I personally took him to
Horsetown and bought hima shirt for the memorial.  There is not an us vs
them thing going on here.

If you decide to help out, I will personally send you a letter and receipt
for what the money was spent on.  All I am doing is tryig to keep my head

No offense towards Kimber, but I really think it says something about our
society when the measure of whether a child is being taken care of poroperly
is the level of their video game system.  I'm sure Kimber does a great job
with her kids, but I find it interesting that this is one of the measures
she uses for comparison.

I guess part of my reasoning in that above post is that financially he will
have no worries.  If he has all the toys his heart desires - those come
after the basics which are well taken care of.  And this topis was about if
he was included in those who benefit.

I think a child well-loved and no toys is less blessed than one who has very
few and lots of love.  I don't base a child being taken properly by that.  I
kept the job I had instead of taking one where I could make a lot more money
because I can bring my kids with me afterschool and on days off to work.
They love being with me and playing with the horses.  I did this because it
gives a great quality time with them instead of being in institutionalized
childcare.

Plus Micks oldest likely has $100,000 comeing to him.  I think they will be
just fine financially.

My experience is that $100,000 dollars probably won't last as long as people
think it will.  I'm sure all the kids are well loved and well cared for, it
was just an observation about society.

Incidentally, the video game discussion reminds me of a story I heard
rececntly about a guy who bought an X-Box for his family for Christmas (the
only present the family could afford because the father had recently lost
his job).  Then, he just sat around all day playing it himself instead of
looking for a job.  He wouldn't even let any of the other family members
play.  Great Christmas present don't ya think?  On the other hand, I just
bought myself an X-Box this summer (it's the first video game system other
than my computer I've owned since junior high) and I've only got one game
for it.  I play it fairly regularly though and enjoy it greatly.

My experience right now tells me that $100,000 would go a lot further than
the bills I incured from the death of my husband.  And yes all these kids
are well loved.

You are asbolutely right he will...  as I will want for my soul mate.  No my
children have only me and a father who after we seperated decided to go MIA.
Mickey became my childrens father.  They too feel a tremendous loss.

And now they will have to learn to see him for what he is, and what he has
done. That is between them and him.

I had a child with one of those *miserable* families, to whom the most
important thing was the control the child was supposed to bring.
They never once thought about the child, but used the child as a podium in
every instance.

After going to jail 7 times, trying to get my court ordered "visitation", I
left and havent been back since.

His name is Kyle. He is my son, and when he is old enough to have a
relationship with me outside the control freak bullshit his mother and
grandparents impose, we will get to know each other. And he will learn the
truth about his momma and his grandparents. That is on them, and
they can expect no slack from me.

There are people in this world who use children as a fulcrum for control,
and those people will reap what they sow.

Don't you worry about any of that sh.t, you do what you got do, and you pull
your duty as God gives you the light to see it.

Everyone else can pound sand.

Often not. Scott says it's a good thing then I go. Dan says it's a good
thing then I go. My wife says it's a good thing then I go triple.
Spencer says go then I don't go.

If I had a day job I should now be thinking of quitting it and going

Well, maybe you don't have a clue what you are talking about sometimes.  So
yes SS would replace ch -- $100,000 is a nice slush fund.

Actually he would because if he needed something his mother could not afford
I would help them out.  It will also go to him in the way I will be able to
take all the kids places, get that pay per view he wanted too se badly ettc.
I would also see what there was - what I needed and talk to Karey about her
situation.  But she makes a lot more money than I and will get that lump sun
to use if necessary.

I am not some selfish coniving bitch like you are making me out to be.

f.cking nailed it.

On the top.

Fact.

Word.

No need for all the bullshit.

I been down and out, and good people helped me. sh.t, bad people helped me.

The payback for that is to help others who need a hand.

No more, no less.

All the rest is drama, and I dont do drama, mama.

Is Charon switching to a Submarine instead of a boat now? An underwater

I think its great.

Let me also say thanks to the gents bidding on the plate. Win/win. You get a
cool piece of gear, and you help a lady with two little girls that need a
hand.

Regardless of how any of you felt about Mick, this isn't about him. We are
all in this friggin mess together.

I know what it feels like to be in a similar position, and I also know how
it feels when someone helps, and I know how it feels to help.

You know what?

I haven't had the time to look through each and every thread or message on
the list, including the one blasting you for whatever it was you did (I
don't care).

She has two little ones, and I am trying to help, because she is trying to
help herself.

If she was sitting on her lumps waiting for a handout, I wouldn't bother.

Fact is, she is in a tough situation, and she is here in Washington now
trying to better for herself and her kids.

That's good enough for me. I have a backplate to donate, so I did, it was
mine, but I can make another one.

And this is appreciated more than you could ever know.

Yes I am here to secure a good job opportunity.  This is not a vacation that
I am dumping my kids for as it has been refered to.  I will take advantage
of riding these horses, but I have to as it is part f the job.  Lucky for me
that it is good therapy so it is a win win situation all the way round.

And Brother, I will drink it.

This is not a "noble" thing.

It is a simple thing that selfish people cant help but f.ck up.

People helped me when I was down and out.

Because I was doing all I could to help myself and my kids.

This is nothing more or less than closing that circle.

The way to pay back those that have helped is to help another.

It is a circle.

And, it is what makes our country strong.

It's alright Scott. If you took the time to read the thread, you'd see
that I'm not getting blasted at all. If you took the time to find
out...
Na. Never mind. Ain't going there.
