It has been quite  a few years but, my wife and I were scheduled for a
beach dive in Curacao with about 12 others. At the dive site, the dive
master told it it was best if we all put our wallets in his glove
compartment, as it locked and would be safe and we all complied. We
suited up, and started. It was hard to get in, rocks  and waves and my
wife just couldn't manage, granted we were not young gorilla divers. The
dive master helped her time and time again but despite his efforts she
felt exhausted and decided against the dive. He coaxed and pleaded but
she backed off, she wouldn't go. We are a couple, I wasn't about to dive
without her. We went back and sat it out, but we noticed a fellow parked
across the street watching us quite intently and he hadn't been there
when we all headed toward the water, the place had been deserted.. When
it became obvious we were not leaving he pulled away.
End of story, I thought he looked suspicious.
About 6 months later a dive paper we used to subscribe to had a few
articles voicing complaints about  the same dive operation and the fact
they were robbed while diving under suspicious circumstances. They felt
it was a set up by the dive master. Same  arrangement all the wallets in
one pick up truck locked, but alas the thieves broke in and robbed all
the money.
Just thinking about it , I wonder if any have had a similar experience?

No, but, this is one of the reasons I got an inside pocket sewn into
my wetsuit - so I can put my money in a zip lock and take it with me
diving.

Some BCs have small zippered pockets for the same reason.

I've seen many people with those little pouches hanging around their necks.
They tuck them inside their wetsuits for the dives.

Who cares if your bills get wet?

It leaves a wet spot on the front of your pants when you put the bills in your pocket.

This may be something you look for in a man, but I think most women would not.

LOL, no, now that you mention it, it's not something I look for in a man.

Plus, dry money is easier to handle.  Less likely for the bills to
stick together and all that stuff.

Better your money should leave a wet spot on the front of your pants than on
the front of somebody else's.

How does a pocket in a wetsuit, keep your bills dry?

It doesn't.  Why do you ask?

Because I misread your earlier post, that's why.  :^)

While on a white-water rafting trip a couple of years ago one of the
gals in our group was worried that her wedding ring would slip off of
her finger while in the water.  Our guide convinced her to let him carry
it for her in his zippered pocket.  At the end of the trip the $2000
ring was "lost".  She couldn't prove it, but she was convinced the guy
had stolen it.
