I was in divers direct a while back and while quickly looking at some
hp
steel tanks I recall the sales guy quickly comparing a 100 cf to a 90
cf ?
I distinctly remember this 90 hp looking about the same size as an al
80
where as the 100 hp was noticeably larger than the al 80. After
looking in the catalog and the website of both leisure pro and divers
direct i see no listing
for a 90 cf hp tank ? I'm wondering if I was really looking at one or
in the
conversation I misunderstood something as I was analyzing the tanks ?
Anyone
know if any of the hp steel tank manufacturers sell a 90 cf ?

You misunderstood something.  A PST hp 100, which is what Divers Direct
sells, is about the size of an 80.  The hp 120 is larger.

An HP 100 is noticeably *smaller* than an AL80. Same diameter, but shorter,
especially when you look at the shoulders.

PST publishes specs for the E7-100 at 3000 and 2640, as well as 3442 (3500).

At 3000 PSI the E7-100 holds ~90 cuFt,
At 2640, it holds ~80 cuFt.

I don't know why the salesperson would be talking sh.t like that except
maybe you told him you had a yoke regulator, and he mistakenly believes
you can't fill higher than 3000, and he will be arrested by the Scuba
Police if he suggests otherwise.

For HP tanks, don't consider anything but PST.

I don't know of any HP 90 tanks.

I hope you weren't looking at a Luxfer 92. First off, its AL,
not steel, its 8 inches in diameter, and it's not HP.

safe diving,

hoooooold on now, no one gets arrested. I think I was confused a bit at what
he was showing me perhaps he showed me the 120 than the 100 and i thought it was
a 100 and a 90 hp ? At any rate, no 90 hp, that's cool.
