I'm going to be in Miami next week and will spend several days diving. I've
asked a couple people on recommendations on what to wear for a wetsuit and
have been told both "Nothing - not needed" to needing a full 3mm wetstuit.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance

That's because that's what we wear in Miami. We had a cold front through
two days ago and air temperatures have dropped. Highs are in the low 80s.
The water temperatures were good enough for me to go without a suit a week
ago, but will be dropping as we enter our winter, if you call what we have,
winter. In short, you'll have to decide what you would be most comfortable
with. Beyond a range of "from nothing to a 3mm", there's not much to say.

I used nothing 2 weeks ago and a 3 mil shorty this week. The MOST I
ever use is a 3 mil farmer john + a 3 mil long jacket (6 mil over the
torso) and this is for Jan-March 100 ft + diving. Water is still
really warm but the air temp is dropping. If you are from the North
and used to the cold... a 3 mil shorty will be fine.

Thanks for the good info... Sounds like a 3 mm shorty should cover all the
possible bases
