Manta Ray is a place built with divers in mind. And the
view is spectacular on the water side. We had wall to wall
windows that looked out directly on the bay ... beautiful!!
The hotel is built directly on the water's edge. The rooms
were very nice "divers" rooms. Meaning tile floors that
aren't afraid of getting wet. Plus, the shower was big
enough to throw a party in! LOL
The Yap divers boats were clean, covered, fast and
professionally run. We had four divers on ours and two
guides/boat crew. The boats leave directly from the hotel's
docks. While I did see the BTR operation in town, I never
saw them at the dive sites ... only putting along in their
slow, open boats.
As I understand, the rooms are a little more upscale at TR
but I would not hesitate to recommend Manta Ray Bay and Yap
Divers.
Whichever place you decide on, have fun and prepare to just
relax. There isn't anything much to do as far as touristy
stuff so diving and chewing the beetlenut is just about it!!
Just my $.02
