The 2003 Christmas Tree Drowning takes place this weekend at Gilboa.
If anyone is gonna be there, come on over and shake hands and/or join
us on the dive. We'll be over by the airplane dock Saturday morning.
Watch for a black Olds minivan with Ontario plates.
Since we can't all get down to Georgia for Mick's memorial service.
perhaps we could hang a decoration on the tree for him.

I wish we could be there. I remember talking all about it last year.

Haven't worn a shorty since I sold my Laser. I wear a full 3mm with a 2mm
hood/vest, gloves and boots even in summer when the water temp is a toasty
80. I was thinking of getting a 5mm with winter coming soon. C|;^{)

I'm expecting something in the low 40's this weekend. Guess it's time
to break out the long undies.

My brother is coming out next month. He and his girlfriend just got
certified off Catalina. They wore full 7mms for their open water dives. He
figured with our expected temps around 76 for that time of year, he'd just
wear a bathing suit. I think I'll get my new 5mm before he arrives and loan
him my old 3mm. As a DM said once when some tourist expressed puzzlement
over me donning a hood: "I've never heard anyone complain about being too
warm" and then promptly put on her own hood.

I've dived in mid-80's water plenty of times in a 3/2 full suit and
never felt over-dressed.

Lake Travis in the summer... Heat stroke putting a 3mm on and quite
uncomfortable until around 60 ft, at which time you find out that the
3mm probably wasn't thick enough...

Ah, okay, but you have to promise to actually dive this year. No more
wading in and making the rest of us look like pipsqueaks. And speaking
of pipsqueaks, will you please refrain from donning yer peevalve
apparatus in full public view. My wife is still giggling about that
little episode.
