What drinks will you provide? And I am going to stop somewhere around Atlanta, bear hug Popeye, kiss Kimber ( maybe Popeye too - :-)) and bring them with me!

Lee Bell - 25 Jul 2004 13:08 GMT > I want to come down and dive - am I invited ? Sure, you're invited . . . to come down and dive. We may dive together, but right this minute, the chances are not good. I did something nasty to my back on the 4th of July and am trying very hard to let it heal or, at least, not make it worse until I can find and get to a doctor that can assist. If I'm in town, I'll make a real effort to meet.

Thanks for the good wishes. I'm sure, well at least hopefull, that my back will eventually get better. It feels like a pulled muscle along the left side, but at times, also feels like a broken rib. Very wierd, hopefully not very serious. Coughing is a study in pain, but the pain is decreasing slowly but surely. The primary problem is that I can't find time to get to a doctor when both the doctor and I are available. I'm unusually busy with unavoidable tasks and it is vacation season.

With her help I went from a back brace plus major medication four times a day for pain to being completely pain free without the surgery that the orthopedist from Stanford 'insisted' I needed. And she did it in a matter of just a two months! If you'd like, e-mail me and I'll put her in touch with you. By the way, at that time she did all her helping me via e-mail... Her methods are radical, but they are rational and they work. That is the main thing. I can lift things again. I can twist and turn without any discomfort. I can do everything I used to be able to do before my lumbar disks turned into paper plates, because they are back to being disks again. Without surgery and without medication.

That's what we'll do: Swing by pick up Salty, Doug, and Kimber and get them drinking by the hot tub. MHK can serve the drinks. I can't wait. Greg, you up for the party? Hell, let's get Dennis, Alan, and Lyle to come too. Maybe we can pay for it all by building a deck around the hot tub. Jammer can belt down a few drinks and show us how to use a nail gun. Better to screw it together? I'm sure somebody can take care of that - any ideas Popeye? Lee, can you arrange accommodations? One padded bus with bars on the windows should do. Don't forget the ball gags!

Why would there be bullets? As a responsible gun owner I would never mix guns and alcohol, I am sure Lee feels the same.

Used to save them for later or, when in the Everglades, kill them from the second floor of the camp in the middle of the swamp. Those were the good old days.
Today, I recycle them. There's no place, anywhere near this place, that I know of, where it's legal to shoot cans or bottles any more.

The bottles, I can understand, but the cans can still be easily recycled even with a few holes in them... Perhaps we should try out some of that new non-lead ammo that the Feds are using on their no-lead ranges...

I seriously doubt that shooting bottles is welcome, but cans, or anything else that can be carried off the property seems to be OK. It's a private club with a very small, $25 I think, membership fee and a per shoot fee of $10 from dawn to dusk if you like. I'm going to take a ride out and have a talk with the owner one of these days.

Joe English - 26 Jul 2004 12:37 GMT >>Don't have a gun around or bullets when drinking. > > Damn... Then what do you do with the empty bottles or cans? quite boring, usually cans, at least at home, crush em, bag em, some retired man picks them up to supplement his income. I recycle because it seems to be the thing to do, however the return price isn't much my trouble. I thin the last time I go $8 for 3 big bags of crushed cans.

I thin the last time I go $8 for 3 big bags of crushed cans. In Austin, many people will look at you as if you were a criminal if you don't recycle "everything". At parties, people will look for the recycle bin to put their empties. The city says it loses money on the return (which is why we're charged for it), but saves money on the landfill not used.

When I lived in eastern North Carolina we used to carefully separate our glass (by color, no less), cardboard, aluminum, etc. and take it down to put in separate bins at the neighborhood "recycling center." My brother watched in awe one day as they took those separate bins and dumped them willy-nilly into ONE truck. Needless to say, we weren't near as careful about separating stuff after that.
