hey shark freaks -
Some of you may have seen these new Shark Week
commercials - but you probably didn't since Discovery
big wigs axed them soon after they aired. I was able
to tap into the corporate site -- check out the link
below see them -- they are hilarious. They'll probably
be taken offline soon so check them out sooner than
later.

Those are too funny...better than the real commercials any day.

Did anyone save those to disk? They were down when I got to them,
and I'd like to see 'em.

I just checked, as of 6:03 a.m. EST, Monday, July 26... the sight loaded
up and played. A second pop-up window opens with the video, so if your
browser is set to deny pop-ups that may be the problem.

Here is the address again:

Good call - I had my popup's disabled. ... saw them. Pretty funny,
though for a spoof promo, I thought they could do better. ;-)

Digital video camera from Best Buy:  $500
Staff writer as actor: $25
Cheesy costumes: $50
Spoof commercials:  priceless

When I was a kid, I thought the angel's name was Hark
and the horse's name was Bob.

Who cares - it wasn't MY money. ;-)
HLAviation - 28 Jul 2004 03:18 GMT
Unless you live in some non consumeristic universe, yes, it is your money.
The media is about advertising, advertising is about selling products. Media
outlets pay for and develope programing so they can sell advertising during
those programs. The cost of the progam development effects the cost of the
advetising. The cost of the advertising is passed on to...YOU, the consumer.
In a capitolist economy, the consumer pays for everything.

Since Discovery is a cable/satellite only channel, you pay for it even
if you NEVER buy anything from an advertiser on the show.
