I seem to remember two Orcas swiming by the island a few years ago, also
photographed by a CCV boat.

Where are the divers?

I've seen and heard of Orcas in that area before. They probably travel thru
there every spring hunting baby humpbacks( or something ). I recently saw
a documentary about them where they hunted baby Gray. They found an isolated
mother and calf. Then they tag-teamed the mother until she was too tired to
defend the calf. Then the cut li'l buggers killed the calf and ate it's
tongue. That's all they wanted, they left the rest to rot.

safe diving,

I don't know, but I don't think I would want to be in the water with
them. Yes, I know others have dove with wild orcas with no problem, but
there is always *the first time*.  :)

Seems like a good waste of whale meat. I have seen docu's where they
have chased down small porpoise to eat them. Those Pacific killers.
