I'm creating a "Top 10 dive shop pet-peeves" list, please post your
favorite ones.
Here are mine:
- Even if you leave a cell phone number, they don't call you if there's
a change of schedule
- You either have to show up or call to find what dives are available
for the week
- If you forget to write down the dive data right after a dive, you can
forget about it, unless you copy it from a buddy

Did you put a deposit down on the dive?

That's normal, unless you're the only name on their waiting list

And this differs from every other dive how...?

They are pretty dull.
Don't buy your dives from a dive shop.
Buy your dives from a dive boat instead and you will have less trouble.
safe diving,

I agree w/ Bullshark. Thes are dive BOAT not dive SHOP issues.
My top 2 "pet-peeves" for dive SHOPs are
- Don't have the brand/model/item I want.
- Chager full MSRP retail prices.
Either of these send me off to on-line shops pretty quickly.

And in NY, cheaper. I know on particular dive shop that will charter a
boat and charge the 'club' members of the dive shop more than what they
would have paid if they walked on.

Our old "local dive shop" (now out of business and replaced with
a better one) wouldn't put prices on ANYTHING. You had
to ask the shop owner how much something was. He didn't have
a price list either, so he came up with the price off the top
of his head, so the price was different each time. Just a
pain in the butt.
