Thanks so much for all your comments, but no one has said what PADI
really asks instructors to do ?
I cant believe such an organization as PADI doesnt tell instructors
how to keep records.
They are so picky telling instructors all what to do and they wont
tell them how to keep records? Why if quizzes have to be teared off
from the manuals, why then doesnt PADI make sure there are no theory
pages on the other side?
Some there is fishy ;)

My understanding is that PADI accept photocopies from the students (which is
what I ask for) but don't encourage the instructors to do the copying
themselves becuase of the copyright / profit implications.
Having been sad enough to check the instructor manual it says;
"Students must complete and turn in the knowlege reviews...The instructor
must keep a record of the signed and completed knowledge review"
It doesnt say anything about ripping out pages, and I think you have a very
good point Mario.

...and more to the point, wouldn't the pages in question be performated?!
Having been through more than a few PADI courses (for my sins), I can
honestly say that I've *never* had an instructor ask to keep the filled in
Knowledge Review quizzes. AFAIK, the only requirement is that the instructor
reviews the questions with you to ensure that a) you've filled them in
correctly (and made any neccessary corrections) and b) you've fully
understood what's been covered...

and
c) your check clears.

Acording to My PADI School If the pages where Perforated or even
had lines on to aid writing they would be classified as Stationary
not Books ( etc) so would attract more Tax and be more expensive
( this may only apply to UK)
Is it me or do the Questions that require a long answer have very
littl space and the ones that require a short answer have loads ??
My school dosnt accept Photo copies but is happy to take the
answers written on a seperate piece of paper signed and dated
this has been acceptable practice at all the UK centers ive had
dealings with including CDC centers
PADI reqiures the records to Be kept for 7 years and does check
occasionally so its posible for them to find Photocopied sheets which
does breach the copywrite clearly stated in every mannual and all
instructors should be aware of it
