While we feel excited when we see mantas & whalesharks during our dive.
What would they say (if they can) to each other when they see us (ie.
divers)?
Manta Ray A:
Hey! I saw some strange fish which blow bubbles out of their head!
Manta Ray B:
Yeah! I saw them as well yesterday!
Manta Ray A:
They made strange noise and jump around in the water!
Whaleshark approached....
Whaleshark:
I tried to approach them and look clearer... But F--K! They touched me! and
that HURTS!
Manta Ray A:
How impolite! Lets stay away from them in the future!

Golly, I hope the manta's are as dumb as you portray, but the whale sharks
have a brain that weighs a lot more than yours does.
If I were a betting man, I would bet on them being curious, just like we
are.

Absolutely! The best way to get rays to come close is to remain still,
not chase them. They will often come very close and I have had them
solicit contact. If you are neither foe nor food, you must be fun.

I heard a joke about two sharks talking with each other underwater while
they were watching a group of divers. One sharks says, "Those divers are
really dumb. They've been down here for half an hour and haven't found
anything to eat yet."
