Another not so good idea. That might get the glock rusty.
There could be other reasons to signal divers from the dive boat,
such as to let them know to watch out because other boats are
approaching the dive area.
I have to believe that other people with dive boats have considered
a diver alerting system from the dive boat...no?
I tried using my boat horn to alert a diver who was under last week,
but he didn't hear it at all.

Nah, Glocks are perfectly happy underwater. It's all that plastic and
Tenifer coated stuff. They are actually designed to work underwater.
I would, however, use jacketed hardballs, as JHPs have some rather
surprising effects underwater.

I've experienced a recall device in Hawai'i (with Mike Severns) that's
just a speaker (designed for salt water, of course) and mike. The
announcement "surf's up, better get back to the boat" came through
crystal clear.

Maybe you could get one of those scrolling, led marquee signs and attach it
to the bottom of the boat... :-)
