Two brands seem to have resonably priced snorkeling packages(mask, snorkel,
fins, and backpack)
US Divers for $30 and Body Glove for $50. Is the Body Glove product
significantly better?

Possibly. Masks and fins vary in quality, but at those prices, you
are looking at low end equipment from either company.

They're both crap. They're both amazing. Depends on whether or not the mask
fits.

No, neither set is really even good for the casual snorkler. Shop at
a dive shop and get mask, fins, snorkel (and booties if needed) that
all fit. You'll spend more, but enjoy the diving more than with crap.
