Hello group.  I'm taking a trip to northern florida, but I won't have
my dive equipment with me.  I was wondering if anyone could tell me
some good springs to snorkel in.  I'd like to know of a place that's
not too overcrowded, but scenic and clean.  Maybe a place where I
could camp nearby too.

Any information would be great.

Thanks,
Will

Buy a copy of Ned DeLoach's "Diving Guide To Underwater Florida"
It has every dive/snorkel location worth mentioning. Includes area and
camping information.

My favorite snorkel spots in central Florida are Ginnie Springs area,
Alexander Springs, Rainbow River (u need a boat for this one),
Crystal River (the manatee may still be home). Weeki Wachee river
(not the springs) is a nice inner tube drift. For above water scenery
the Silver River just east of Occala is beautiful. I think they shot the
Tarzan and Creature from Black Lagoon movies in this area of forest.
