Citizen Aqualand Watch Question...

I have a Citizen Eco-Drive Aqualand dive watch.  On the face of the dial,
between the 1 and 2 o'clock numbers, there is a small red panel with the
word "call" on it.  Does anyone know what that is for?  The manual says
nothing about it.  Got me scratching my head!

Thanks!
Max

Hello Maxwell,

I believe this is the Overzone Mark although the manual is not clear
in its diagram Nor do they use "CALL" in any of the text.

From the manual -

Overzone mark ................When the diving depth exceeds 50 meters
(125 feet) or there is something abnormal in the depth meter function,
the function hand points to the overzone mark.

Wet detection error indication If the diving standby mode (water
sensor is in action) continues for 1 hour or more, the function hand
points at the overzone mark.
If the watch remains in this status for a long time, refer to “11.
MEASURES AGAINST POSSIBLE PROBLEMS.”

If the water sensor gets dirty or wet, it is activated even when the
watch is not wet and the wet detection error indication (the function
hand points to the overzone mark) appears.
In case the watch falls into this status, carefully clean the water
sensor part and wipe out moisture completely

Thanks Ratfish, but I think the overzone mark is on the other side of the
dial, and is a small red square with a white dot in the center (by the 10
o'clock position).  The "call" mark is between the 1 o'clock and 2 o'clock
position.

Thanks anyway!
Max.

Maxwell,

So right you are my speculation was absolutely wrong.
But I also sent the question on to the Citizen support email and this
is the response I received.  (It seems "Call" is a label for one  of
the B button's functions).

"“Call” Indicator
Some of our analog Aqualand dive watches feature the ability to
‘recall’ the depth attained on the most
recent dive, up to 125 feet or 50 meters. This feature is indicated by
the word “CALL” on the dial
between the 5 and 10 minute position. To review the depth of the last
dive, while in the time mode, press
and release the upper right button to activate the ‘call’ feature. The
‘function hand’ will rotate to indicate
the depth attained on the most recent dive (depth is indicated on the
dial ring marked 10,20,30,40,50,
etc..) To return to the time mode, press and release the upper right
button again."

This came in the form of a PDF (single page) I can send it to you
directly if you like.
