Hi everyone,

I'm recently single (6-months) and decided i get to get away, by
myself.  I want to learn to dive, as i will be moving to Florida from
chicago later this year.

DOes anyone have any suggestions as to a "singles" resort
(all-inclusive would be nice) wher i can learn to dive?  Thanks!!

pls reply to dsprenzel_at_sbcglobal_dot_net

Find out from the resort what dive shop they use, and then call the dive shop.
The resort will usually only offer a discover scuba type program (it's not a
certification), and you will have to pay the dive shop for the full program.

So basically, to answer your question, any one will do.

You have to decide if you want to learn to dive or get laid, not that these
activities are mutualy exclusive, but you should concentrate on the diving
first if that's what you want to do. You can get laid afterwards. You may
smell bad, but so will your female (?) diver friend. Your decision making
iis in question because you stayed in Chicago from January-February this
year... bad move. Additionaly- either activity (nowadays) can kill you, so
you have to take certain precautions. I imagine you know how to boink
without endangering yourself- but now it's time to learn the diving thing.

Once you're a diver, the singles scene is a bit different than a non-diver
(or Club Dread situation). Personaly, I had as my criteria a female unit
that held a c-card or wanted one- for the perfect relationship. Common
interests are important, but I'll leave that for
rec.singlesinthecaribbean.net

There is nothing better than a gal in a rubber suit- makes 'em frisky.

You might do all of your classroom & pool work in Chicago- lot's of great
shops there- then do your open water referral in the Florida area- If you're
in a rush. Or just do it all in Florida and save money. DO NOT do it at a
resort in the Caribbean. This is a waste of sunlight, vacation and money.

Just my version.

Some of my requirements for the perfect DiveCaddy include.

C Card or willing to get one.
Able to travel, in other words, able to get a passport.
Must have at least a 3 digit IQ.
Willing to share expenses.
Must be able to carry her own gear, even better if she can carry mine too.
Female.
Able to NOT talk all the time.

did I miss any?

I should have said "Obviously Female Human".

Yes, a good one. But my dog already does that.

You've certainly gotten picky of late. You used to have only one
requirement .... female! Of course that was usually only discussed
when you were awash in Merlot. Now you want superior intellect and
financial independence as well. Dayum. Don't we all!!!!

My newspaper ad for a Divecaddy was getting too many respondents, not all of
them human.
I had to narrow down the selection, the 3 digit IQ weeded out many of them,
the not talking weeded out all the rest. I am back to zero again.

SIGH. I am so LONELY.

This brings to mind a night when my then new GF Cindy and I were walking
down the street in Alachua, FL. We ran into Tommy C and some of the
other guys from Redneck Scuba in the GA mountains.

Me: Hey Tommy, this is my girlfriend Cindy.
Tommy: She cave dive?
Me: yup.
Tommy: She tote tanks?
Me: Yup
Tommy: Them her teeth?
Me: Yup
Tommy: Can I have her when you're done with her?

The way you always talk about her, one guesses Tommy's gonna die a
lonely man.

That was covered by "Obviously Female Human"

Appropriate flotation units (aka lift bags) and dispersal. Make sure they're
firmly secured for a smooth ride on top... or to the top.
