Hello!
I own a 15 years old UK600R diving light with screw-type bulb.
Few years ago I managed to find a spare bulb when the original (12 years
old bulb) started to show signs of age. Last week the replacement
bulb blew (after only 3 years) so I had to revert to now 15 years old
original bulb which, I asume, won't live long. A "google" search for spare
bulbs for UK600R didn't get anything useful: two hits, one is a discussion
about the bulbs not being stocked and another is a store with BI-PIN contacts
while I need a screw-type contact.
Does anyone knows a place where I can order a spare bulb for UK600R of the
screw-type?
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP ! ! !

Timely link. My UK4R is starting to give me a little trouble. I have to
keep adjusting the tension of the spring where electrical contact is made.

Thanks for everyone who replyed.
Although I tryed the http://www.uwkinetics.com/finddealer.htm
but it seems this kind of bulb for a light so long ago not produced is not
on the lists.
I wonder if there is anything special in bulbs intended for diving
lights, in addition to their electrical and mechanical parameters?
I'm quite sure bulbs "6V, 9W, screw type contact, elongate glass"
are common in general appliances but can they be used for diving lights?
Can the "light efficiency" (lumens of light per watt of electric power)
be an issue?
TIA,

> TIA,
A couple of year ago, an old sales manager of Underwater
Kinetics told me that bulbs were a very big profit center
for them They could buy a bulb (in the thousands of course)
for about 15 cents and sell them in the $5-8 range. He also
said that it is common practice to "push" the bulbs to get a
brighter light. They do that by using a 7.5-8V bulb in a 9V
light, a 4.8V in a 6V light and so on.
You may have some luck if you have your bulb in hand by
searching places like www.topbulb.com or the like. They
usually have pictures and some descriptions to help you pick
your bulb.
Good hunting!
Just my $.02

From UK website:
--------------------------
Q Where can I get a replacement lamp for my UK600R, UK600RH,
UK1200R UK1200RH, SE200R or SE400R?
A Underwater Kinetics no longer stocks lamps for these
products. These lamps were custom made to meet UKs high
standard for high output, and high color temperature. As the
lights which used these lamps were replaced by higher
performance models demand for replacements fell below the
minimum replacement quantity and the lamps were discontinued.
------------------------
So much for a "Lifetime Warranty"!!

If they don't stock the bulb, ask them about an upgrade option. You return
your light and, for a small fee, they send you a new light. I've done this
with them before.

I'm in the same boat as you. Can't find a battery or a new bulb. Any luck?
Did you contact UWKinetics?
Great torch but if they make something as robust as this (and it wasn't
cheap at th time) they need to ensure there is a source of ongoing spares.
Suggest we contact UKW and see what their reaction is.
