Hi, my name is John. Been diving for 30 years...yep I'm 59yo. Anyone
out there remember the double hose? Anyway, I'm looking for experienced
comments on full face masks with built-in communication so I can speak
to my wife underwater (I'm still really iffy about that feature).
Specifically, how is ear clearing, mask squeeze, most importantly how is
viz? I shoot video with a L&M Mako and want to make a knowledgeable
decision on this "potential" purchase. Any sane replys are gratefully
appreciated. If this pans out, I hope to become an active participant
in this newsgroup. Thanks.

The only two I have experience with are;
1) Interspiro Divator (AKA AGA) http://www.interspiro.com/diving.htm
which uses comms by OTS: http://www.oceantechnologysystems.com/index.shtml
and whom will sell you Divators complete with comms ready to go;
http://www.oceantechnologysystems.com/interspirofullface.shtml
They also offer a nifty frame to hang your prescription lenses in;

2) Ocean Reef http://www.oceanreefgroup.com/products.html
which uses their own comms: http://www.oceanreefgroup.com/communication.html
but OTS also makes comms for the unit.
There are several others out there, like the KM MK48
http://www.kirbymorgan.com/FullFaceMasks/M48.html
and EXO http://www.kirbymorgan.com/FullFaceMasks/exobr.html which also allow
comms, but the most common and affordable will likely be the Divator with
OTS comms.
Some shops will let you demo dive an Ocean Reef, so look around, shop
around, there are lots of options.
