I just purchased an Aeris AI dive computer.  My wife has an Oceanic Versa
Pro computer.  Does anyone know if I can use her USB interface cable to
download dives from the Aeris?  Or could I possibly screw something up?

Thanks,
Jumper

Nope, they're both proprietary and made by different companies. You could
possibly damage the ports or cables on either one if you try to mismatch
them up like that.

Thanks Kriterian, but before I received your reply I loaded the software
that came with the Aeris and plugged her USB cable into my computer.  It
recognized the connection and downloaded the dives perfectly.

I think the proprietary part of the equipment is the software, as I could
not get her software (Oceanic) to access my Aeris or vice versa.

Thanks again though,

That's better than Suunto which still uses serial ports.

True, except on the new D9 which is supplied inclusive of the USB interface
(as it ought to be at that price)!

Glad it worked. I apologize but I misread your original post about the Aeris
being an AI. I have the Atmos 2 which uses a funky USB cable that's normal
on the computer end and a tiny 4 pronged thing on the other end that barely
fits.

Had to install the USB drivers (and Suunto DM application), but otherwise it
worked perfectly to directly connect my Suunto D9 to my notebook USB (doesn't
have any serial ports).
