Oh yes it matters. Please see your manufacturer's specific
instructions. Some BCD's require some kind of conversion to be used
with Nitrox mixes above 21%. The same goes for regulators. They can be
used, but some gaskets/etc might need to be changed.
If you cannot find contact information for the manufacturer, ask the
place you purchased from if they know or if they could provide you with
contact info.

What a load of bollocks.
All scuba regulators fittings (except the so called lightweight or
ultralight models which are made from Aluminium or titanium) are suitable
for EAN up to 40%, although it is preferable to ensure that they have been
properly cleaned and the only lubricants used are O2 compatible, such as
Crystalube or, as I use, OxyLube from Lawrence Factor in Miami (part number
CL-581002-PT)
All standard regs (except the Aluminium or Titanium ones) are made of chrome
plated brass, exactly the same material used for all high pressure O2
fittings.
The only other factor is that you will need to service your regs regularly,
at least once per year, as O rings will harden and become brittle with
constant exposure to high pressure O2.

Rubbish. Name one BC that requires this.

Marketing/CYA hype.
Marcin, I am beginning to believe that you are a troll. Do you
actually even dive?

Well, that's what my instruction manual said. "for air only", with
conversion kit up to "40%", and never above 40%. Perhaps I am a victim
of marketing.

Ok.

Yes, albeit not as much as I would like to. Going again tomorrow.
Its going to be cold, but looking forward to it.
Sorry about sounding trollish -- not my intention. I just really
like to know.

Oh, no, you're right.
You need a BC for air, you need a BC for 21-30%, another for 30-35%,
and then 35-40%.
You have to have wings and a backplate for anything above 40%.
Greenlee knows all this.
He's just yanking your chain because you're so new.
The best thing to do is to not let him get away with it, and fight
back, every time. Otherwise, he'll do it every time you post here.

And when you're done with that conversion, get back to me and I'll
setup you up with a nitrox cerified snorkel.
