After seeing "Open Water" I would happily shell out $500 for one of these
puppies. The only hits I get on PLBs for SCUBA are in the UK. A firm i
don't know. Anyone out there got one? Where'd you get it?

I don't have one, but have a look at the EPIRBs (Electronic Position
Indicating Radio Beacon) on http://www.acrelectronics.com/ .
I think they make/made a version specifically for scuba divers.

ACR, a Ft. Lauderdale company used to advertise one. Do a Google search and
check to see if they still do.
