Hi all. I am looking for an English guy called Gavin McKenzie. He is a
PADI instructor and a TDI instructor trainer. He is has most likley
arrived in Thailand or Red Sea areas in the last couple of weeks.
Anyone know where he is working?
PS sorry if this is not 'on topic'
kiwitwat - 13 Oct 2004 23:57 GMT
He was in New Zealand up untill early September 2004 and now may be in
Thailand or the Rd Sea areas (possibly Dahab). Any help is appreciated

He's dead.

He died in a diving accident.

Is this guy a solid English bloke in his early thirties?  I saw him in
Dahad last week while I was on holiday down there. Seemed pretty alive
then (look at me I'm a big tech hero). I think he was with Planet
Divers but I could be wrong. What are you looking for him for?

Thanks for that. I'm not the only one looking for him. He owes me many
many $$$ and the New Zealand police want him to for failing to turn up
at a court case where he was getting prosicuted for stealing a bunch
of gear from the shop he worked for. I'm surprised he's gone back to
Dahab as I believe he was caught stealing for his employer there too.

Oh, that guy. Sorry.

Everyone knows about him. Thief, liar, con-artist wannabe.

He's in Japan, now, using the name "Steve Kramer".

Good luck. There's a long line.

LOL.  Kiwiman, your manhunt got ensnarled by newsgroup politics.

It's hard to tell if we should take you at face value, but good hunting
all the same.

Whats the point in being deliberatly misleading? I was looking for
help with something and you take time out to be unhelpfull. Time to
take a look at youself and get a life

Look, we're sorry about your friend, but no one lives forever.

He's dead.

Live with it, or die.

Nice sentimental attitude but he's
A) Not my frioend
B) Not dead
C) alive in Dahab according to Planet Divers.

You were just out to be missleading and unhelpful

Take a breath, newbie.

You're missing a priceless opportunity to hold your tongue.

Hey Paul
I have just been reading all this info on Gavin. I hope I am wrong but this seems like the person I met in the UK a couple of months back. Seemed like a real nice guy to me but now I am not so sure I was right to think that.

I was going to email him and keep in touch maybe even go out to Dahab for a vacation. What I would like to know was,is he the nice guy I thought he was or was he full of bullshit(scuse the phrase)I would really love to learn how to dive but have I got the wrong tutor?

Please email me as I have already booked the flight for January.

Lucy...........
Paul Duggen - 17 Dec 2004 20:01 GMT
Hi Lucy,

Sorry its taken a while to reply....

If it is the same Gavin then yes he is full of bullshit and you do have the wrong tutor.

Paul
