I've slogged away day and night :o)

and my eyes are like roadmaps,

my kids have left home and my wife thinks she's married to a screen addict,

but hey i finally added those photos to the divelog software tada :)

i doesn't affect any original photos! rather it copies them, resizes them,
then creates thumbnails and 640x480 images in a separate directory and off
course displays them in the main divelog form

i thought 640x480 was enough because the original images remain the same
what do you think?

so you if you want to you can try it out for me and let me know what you
think.

ps: i also added or fixed the calendar, table, data lock and screen resizing
amongst other things

Yeah, but is still doesn't work for Macintosh, UNIX or Linux :-)

I can bet if it did work for Mac or UNIX, it wouldn't be free. The Linux
version would only work with a certain revision and would take 2 weeks to
install because you would be missing some silly package someplace.

Hi Kaz. This version looks much nicer.

Your calendar still needs more work. It needs to have the days of the week
at the top of the columns otherwise it isn't very usefull.

Is there a way to sort the dives by date? I have a bunch of old logs i want
to add, but don't want them numbered AFTER my current dives. I would like to
be able to sort ALL of the dives by date (or have this happen
automatically).

Keep on building on it.. soon you will have something ready to sell I think.

Doug.

thanks doug

your comments are worth their weight in gold!

<calendar>
i have tested the new calendar function on several pc's now and i think its
working ok in the newer version, the FONT was not set for the ms ocx
function... oops :(

<sort by date>
i've had the insert date function working for a while but also wanted to add
photos to divelog!

<insert dive>
was a pain in the backside for the photos but in the new version you can
insert dives into any date you want i have finished the prog and testing it
now, but please wait a couple of days before downloading it, i have not
uploaded it yet!

<data lock>
i put it in there because at the dive shop there are several people using
the logbook and someone added a dive to another persons profile accidentally
hehe sh.t happens

thanks again,

regards
kaz

I just installed the dive log software yesterday, and wanted to write you
about a few things.

1. I like the entry layout - nice 3d effect, loads of fields....

2. No search function is really a make or break function for me.  A database
without a search function is IMO, severely crippled.

3. Every calendar I've ever seen begins with Sunday and ends on Saturday.
Your calendar begins with Sat and ends on Friday.  While I'll admit that is
how some divers view the week (;) it's a bit confusing.  Also, the drop down
calendar starts always on December 2004. Can you make it so it starts on the
current month?

4. The picture function is great and fast! Nice job.

5. The dive chart is really nice!

6. This is the only dive log software I feel I could use on a regular basis.
But with out a search function to search the Comment and other fields, it is a
little hard to use.

Some final comments:

An active email address where people can write you for comments and support
would be better than taking up bandwidth in usenet.

It would be nice to have a *print preview* function.  Also, a
one-line-per-dive report would be very handy and save paper. You could leave
out all the non-pertinent fields, and just use all the basic fields: location,
BT, depth, time, date, etc. Also, the ability to export reports to .txt format
would improve compatibility and transportability of reports.

Again, nice job. Great potential to be a really great program.  Would you mind
if I posted an announcement on alt.comp.freeware?

hi rockinghorse winner,

thanks for your comments! i really appreciate it :)

there is the type of dive search already in the program press 'deep and
shark and excellent and photos' will list only those dives

i will be adding a text 'search' function very soon i'm just working on
something else at the moment

the text file export is a good idea, i will add that also! i think i'll go
one better and add html export as well, thanks again for your comments :)

you can email me directly from the program. just click on the email link in
the about box and all blue text are hyperlinks in your buddy list as well

i'm not sure if the new email function where you can send buddies your dive
and photos in the main menu works with all versions of ms outlook, it should
attach the main dive window and any photos you have for that dive and place
it in the outbox, does this work for you?

Q.  Would you mind  if I posted an announcement on alt.comp.freeware?
no i don't mind as long as you use the web link and not the zip file
download link because i might change the directory where the zip file is.

thanks again!
